KAREKARE ARTIST RESIDENCY
The original Karekare homestead Karekare House has been repurposed to become a venue for arts residencies which are being offered to all types of creatives.
JOHN MCDERMOTT
John has been photographing the performing arts in New Zealand since 1993. He has several books and exhibitions to his name, including Heartland, Barefoot Kings and his most recent book, Process. John will be on site to answer questions, and will have work and books on display and available to purchase.

MICHELE JOHNSON
Michele is a jewellery maker residing and working at Karekare House. She mostly work with silver and takes inspiration from the patterns and forms of the Waitākere environment. Visitors will enjoy a demonstration of her practise and view works in progress.
