RHIAN MCCORQUODALE – THE GARAGE COLLECTIVE
Artist Naturae: Art through a zoologists eyes. Gaining a first class honours degree and PhD in Zoology solidified my fascination with the exquisite detail in all the creatures I studied. An enduring passion throughout my studies and motherhood has been to capture the delicate, complex beauty of the natural world.
As a busy mother of three young children artistic urges have to find their own way to express themselves in the background of a fun, busy, chaotic family life. On the walls, the floor, clothing and sometimes on paper. I work in watercolour, coloured pencils, acrylics, fabric paint, murals, embroidery, dress making, sugar paste and swimming pool mosaic designs, which can all be viewed at our studio.
Joining Rhian will be mixed media artist Yerin Yoo who specialises in spectacular digital portraiture, Bethells photographer Maddy Stockford who excels at capturing family life at its most beautiful, Anna McGreevy from Waitakere township who creates large scale psychedelically colourful contemporary designs and mixed media Bethells artist Bobby Lewis-Bradley who creates vibrant designs in oils and acrylics.
