TED KINDLEYSIDE
An artist and craftsperson for over 40 years, Ted’s practice in ceramics is of symbols, sculptural forms, and glaze and clay textures. From the studio in the bush on the West Coast of New Zealand, he describes his recent work as “Backyard bush pottery from Huia, West of Titirangi - pots with applied decoration, copper, barium and shino glazes.”
Ted’s work is represented in both private and public collections including the Auckland Museum and Te Papa. He has received over 50 awards, including The Gold Coast Ceramic Award and Waitakere City Artist Award, Portage Ceramic Awards 2002.
