Call for Artists
Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026
10am–4pm
Registrations are now open for the twelfth Open Studios Waitākere. We invite artist studios, designers, makers, creatives, art groups and galleries across the Waitākere Ranges to open their doors for a free weekend of creative connection.
Are you in the Event Area?
The event covers the entire Waitākere Ranges Local Board area — from Piha and Te Henga in the west to Glen Eden and Oratia in the east, and from Swanson in the north to Huia and Parau in the south. If you are unsure whether your studio falls inside the boundary, check with Auckland Council’s Find Your Local Board tool. Just outside the line? Email us anyway and we will let you know where things stand.
What you get?
A listing in the printed brochure and event map, distributed across West and Inner-West Auckland. Your own page on the event website. Roadside and wayfinding signage. Promotion across our social channels and e-newsletter. A professional PR and media campaign. Inclusion in the self-guided digital art trail. All at no cost to you.
What we ask?
This is a studio event - visitors come to meet artists and see how they work, not simply to view work on walls. We ask that you open across the weekend, are there to meet visitors, show them something of how you work, display the event signage we provide, and share the event with your own networks.
Key Dates:
Registrations close: Friday 4 September 2026
You will hear back by: Thursday 10 September 2026
Maps and brochures distributed: by the end of October
Event weekend: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, 10am–4pm
Registration takes about fifteen minutes and you can save it and come back to it. The sooner you register, the sooner we can start promoting your studio, which means more visitors through your door on the weekend.
