Book Art Studios | Liz Constable
The Collection by Book Art Studios
Book Art Studios was established in 2006 by Liz Constable. It is a working studio where bookmaking techniques meet a love of paper and colour. Neighbours walking past are often treated to a washing line filled to bursting with hand-dyed paper!
The studio is a place where every step of the process is carried out by hand, from dyeing the paper and folding, to creating covers and binding them together. There is a strong focus on the imperfections of the dyed paper and the small details that make a handmade book special.
Book Art Studios is also an independent publisher and has published four books worldwide:
One Small Drop
Re:Create
Dyed & Gone to Heaven
The Department of Angels
From the first ideas and writing through to the finished book, the studio is involved in the entire process of bringing these publications to life. At its heart, Book Art Studios is about creating beautiful works of art by hand, experimenting with paper and colour using its trademarked technique, Dyed & Gone to Heaven, and putting creativity out into the world.
