Te Tararā Artisan Jewellery Studio

New Artist

In the Te Tararā studio, you will find unique, handcrafted jewellery. No two pieces are the same. Rex focuses on New Zealand’s semiprecious stones like Carnelian, Jasper, Pounamu, Agates and Obsidian.

You can select stone in the rough from shelves laden with his 50years of collecting around the country. There are also beautiful stones from around the world like Lapis Lazuli, Chrysoprase, Malachite and Rhodonite. There are stones ready for setting in silver or gold, or you can choose a ‘rough’ off the shelf and have him fashion and set a stone in your favourite shape.

In this studio, you will find a craftsman with stone and metalwork skills. You will find earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets in a wide variety of beautiful gemstones, all crafted with silver and gold.

The studio is next door to Bodega Eatery and The Shed Collective Farmers Market (Saturday morning only).

Visitors are welcome to drive through the Bodega Eatery car par and park right in front of the studio (through the black fence and gate).  You will find Rex in the studio, crafting his next beautiful piece.

If visiting Piha, drop in to Piha Community Art Gallery (next to the fire station), where you will find a selection of Rex’s work.

Visitors can expect:
See the artist working. An opportunity to engage with the artist and design your own piece. Work for sale. Refreshments next door at Bodega Eatery.
