Bush Bach Studio
First Light
Donny's work sets out to deconstruct the power of scenery and the image. With loose brush strokes and explosive color, he doesn't just paint a scene, he creates a world where every element vibrates with a harmonious restlessness, capturing a story in a single composition. He works with multiple layers of oil paints and other materials to create an enriched image that carries a saturated depth, as if you were observing wind passing through trees, or water dancing endlessly with gravity. The idea isn't to just paint a scene or subject, but to engulf the viewer in an isolated snap shot of a world, vibrating like atoms in the air. His objective with his works is to express the human condition through images of the worlds we each move through.
