Elemental Jewellery
New Artist
Memento & Origins collections photographed by Studio Melo
Rosie Carson creates contemporary jewellery designs from her studio in Glen Eden. She has a passion for gemstones which have featured heavily in her work since starting Elemental Jewellery in 2015. This year she has begun working with cast metals and has incorporated sand from special beaches into a new range of work.
Rosie’s aim is to create pieces that have a unique simplicity, as well as having a strong connection to place and memory.
So obsessed is she with gems, she even collects her own stones from around New Zealand, as part of her involvement with a local rockhound club. So if you have an interest in learning more about either lapidary or jewellery, she would love to show you around her workshop.
Visitors can expect:
Hands-on activity for visitors, Refreshments, Demonstration of your practice, View of works in progress, Work for sale
Kids can have a go at hand-polishing a gemstone.
