Steve Tollestrup Opanuku Arts

I approach painting as contemplative practice, developing a visual language of wilderness. My landscapes present nature as creation and companion—living, wise, and responsive—awakening both our deepest imagination and our advocacy that defends this precious environment.

I had early art training in California and have continued study alongside accomplished artists, but I am primarily self-taught and self-directed, with a preference for oils, combining a contemporary vision with classical methods.

Located in Henderson Valley, my small gallery and studio will be a valued stop during the Open Studio weekend. Visitors are welcome to talk, view the studio, and browse artworks for sale.
